US viewers, celebrate Leap Day and don’t forget to watch Kindred Part 2 tonight on Sci Fi! After last week’s 10-second cliff-hanger, Carson should figure prominently in Part 2. We hope our questions will be answered: who or what is this Carson, what has he been through, and what does his future hold? For a rather spoilery preview, watch the Sci Fi trailer here.
So cool. He’s back and not quite back….but his complete return in the next season and or those thereafter is now foreseeable.. I’d say more, but then that would ruin it! But very cool.
Wow!! What an episode. There is hope that he will return again, but it is sad that we are not going to see him in every episode in season 5!! Carson rules. I really hope that they will bring him back!!!
Pop those bottles of champagne again! “Kindred Part 2″ just ended on the West Coast. Fantastic! You guys were awesome. While I was watching the episode, I couldn’t help but think about how your hard work pulled this off. It’s fan history.
Once again, Congrats! ![]()
WTF!!! IT’S A CLONE!!!!!!!! I want the REAL Beckett, not a CLONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I want the REAL CARSON!!! Why couldn’t the one they blew up be the clone?
Yeah, didn’t they say that it would be the real deal and not a clone. I find this very bullshitty.
Clone or no clone, that was Beckett. It’s nice to have him back. Everyone did such a great job while maintaining a sense of decorum and dignity. That is why he’s back.
I thought we were promised real Beckett and not alternate reality/clone Beckett. Hm… maybe they figure out in the next episode that he’s real but that his DNA is being altered or some crap… either way, I was hoping that right at the end they’d figure out he was real/had been altered by Michael, but was the real Beckett.
Fingers crossed that his story arc finishes with him turning out to be the real freaking Beckett we were promised.
@Will,
yes, I am upset too - the whole “our Carson in the flesh” was just a bait to the fans I presume. I would’ve rather hoped that the clone was killed in the explosion, real Beckett comes back instead. And they would have been even a good explanation for having him not in the whole 5th season - Woolsey will be the new chief of the expedition and he would’ve been the right character to sent Beckett back to earth for eitehr further examination or security reasons. Well, at least they finally realized they have stasis chambers on Atlantis…
My two daughters love Dr. Carson Beckett as do I. We love watching him and listening to his gorgeous voice!! He was a wonderful asset to Stargate and I was sad to see him only back for a few episodes but, i loved it anyways.
@Halessa
Yeah, I suppose it was a bait and switch to the fans which, to me, is just a slap in the face… I still hold out hope that somehow what you descrived, clone Carson being the one who died in Sunday, is what will play out and, somehow through the magic of story telling, (presently)Clone-Carson is really Real-Carson and somehow, Michael’s altered his DNA to make him more easy to control.
If that’s not how it winds up being concluded and, for some reason, we never see Clone-Carson again(if he’s killed/goes home), I’m gonna be pissed. As an aspiring screen writer/producer/indie film maker, if my current project were to get picked up for a TV run, I wouldn’t kill off a fan favorite, promise to bring them back without any gimmick “it’s a clone” crap, and then go back on my word.
I sincerely hope this clone nonsense is just a red herring and that at the end of his 5 story run in season 5, he’s regular old awesome Carson Beckett, not a clone or some other such copy.
damn it so weird how carson beckett isnt the real guy…its just a weird feeling. after watching sunday from season 3.. its like omg. iono
you all know tat feeling right haha
He’s back and he’s awesome. I line for Joe Mallozzi’s blog got me wondering
“For those of you asking how the Beckett clone got the original’s memories - right now, only Michael knows for sure an he aint talking.”
Maybe we have the real Carson back and will find the truth sometime during Season 5
Thanks god carson is back……we all love you carson..The producers MUST NOW BRING HIM BACK Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please….BRING CARSON BACK
I agree with what some others have said, I am going to be very upset if Clone-Carson is all we got back. Of course this is a great fan moment, and everyone at SCB is AMAZING. If they were brining back a non-real carson they should have promised us that! I would have been okay if they said “well, we can bring him back, but not as the carson you knew”. But they didn’t. They promised us the ‘real’ carson, not a copy, or a replicator, or a dream, or anything like that So I am going to be pretty mad if Cone-Carson is the only one we get back >.
Clone or otherwise, it was so fantastic to see Paul back where he and Becket belong. It showed just how lacking this season has been without him. Jewel is a fine actress but her character is so completely lame - and that’s never more apparent than when she was side by side with the real doctor of Atlantis.
Kindred Pt2 made for some interesting story telling. I don’t feel that the producers explanation that it would be the “Real” Carson who would return didn’t ring true at all. Unless we’re being misdirected for some dramatic effect then the whole he’ll be back in the flesh routine was nothing but a tapestry of lies. So Dr. Beckett will be in five episodes, that one fourth of a season more than enough time to write the good doctor out of his dilemma. If not we will end up with plot points of the Atlantis crew standing outside Carson’s stasis chamber saying things like…”I wish there was more we could do for him”…As I stated before the Pegasus galaxy is a very big place and there is plenty of room for two doctors on this series, it would allow for greater and more varied story telling. This would be good for the writers, the producers and the viewers.
You know I haven’t seen Kindred 2 yet as I live in the UK so I can only comment on what has been written above but to be honest with you I don’t understand what the fuss about Carson being a clone is all about. Let’s face it what we wanted was for him not to have died in the first place but he did and now we have to accept a “viable storyline” for his return unless we want him to come back in the shower like Bobby Ewing! I am sure if we all support Carson’s clone and lobby tptb we will have more chance of seeing his full time return than if we run the whole storyline down. Who knows how the story will develop and one thing I have learnt about being part of this campaign is not to lose heart, be patient but adamant and keep fighting. I guess what we all really wanted is the real Carson but hey maybe it is him. I seem to remember an episode a while ago when someone said everyone on Atlantis seemed to be acting differently since they returned from a mission, maybe they are all clones - who knows - let the story develop we may get exactly what we want. Come on guys be positive, I am sure we will get a much more favourable response if we are supportive and demanding rather than negative and demanding. In the meantime, I am counting the hours until tomorrow and looking forward to seeing Carson/Paul once again.
I’m thrilled to have Carson back, and I agree with Rodney: he’s Carson in every way that counts. I thought “The Kindred Part 2″ was wonderful in terms of the Carson plot (not the Teyla plot); I loved the scenes with Carson and Rodney especially, but also Carson and Keller (who has really grown on me), Carson and John, and even Carson and Ronon (”This is exactly what I was afraid of.”) He has Carson’s memories up through “Misbegotten,” and he certainly has Carson’s personality–and heart.
Looking forward to season 5!
i garuntee teylas babies father is really carson…… trust me
Have now seen Kindred 2 and I loved it. I really don’t care if he is a clone. This is Carson in the flesh, not a dream, or flashbacks. It was great to Paul back on screen and Carson back on Atlantis. It had me tearing up again. I am writing my next batch of letters now asking for more than five episodes in series 5. Welcome back Paul!!!
Carson…? Clone …? I don’t care, I was just looking at Paul :>)))
What a difference though? The whole episode seemed to come alive with him around. He’s so real. And to have the Carson / Rodney banter going again, Jeepers, I’ve missed that.
So, we’re left with a Star Wars 2 style cliff hanger. Come on Mr M, we need more than five eposides to look forward to!
there are so many possibilities to save the story (fe. finding out that carson who died was a clone too and the real carson is still imprisoned out there)
I was pissed when he died, not only because the episode appeared to be somehow stupid (a strange disease that lets people explode? c’mon…).
It seemed like the episode was written especially to kick out carson.
but i totally agree with you: Clone carson is not a quality replacement for real carson. allthough clone-carson is far better than no carson
I WANT THE REAL CARSON BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! they could have said that the one that got blown up was a clone and the real Carson is being held by Michael.
calm down folks ^^ i’ve seen the episode now too and i found it wonderful … i don’t know what yout hate about carson … maybe he is real, because that was not excluded, just stated by keller ^^ … furthermore the way rodney described carson’s death to carson (wow
) sounded like he himself thought he would be the real one …
