Paul McGillion has taken a moment to respond to the news of his return in the role of Carson Beckett, with this message to the campaign:
I am really excited to reprise my role as “Dr Carson Beckett,” and I would like to thank all the people who have been so great to me, with all your support especially the SCB campaign (You Guys Rock!) What can I say? “Beckett’s Back!” and I owe it to the Fans! Thank You! Thank You! Thank You!

Thank you Paul - I just wish you could kick some ass with tptb so they bring you back for 20 episodes! It has been an honour to be part of the campaign and I shall keep battling - as I am sure all the others will too!

I am SO Happy to know that you’re hyped up and happy to be back on the show! I’m hyped up and happy for you and I CAN’T WAIT TO SEE THE NEW EPISODES Featuring The Lovely and Wonderful Carson Beckett! I really do hope we get to see you in more than just 5 episodes though! I’m happy that all the efforts people have been putting into this have been working! You’re ever so welcome and don’t you even think for one second we’re gonna just nod to 5 episodes.. If we can still type, write and talk then we’ll still be spreading the message! Thanks Paul — I’ll be watching the eps you’re in. I hope that TPTB realize what they’ve been missing and will give you more than five episodes next season.

Joe Mallozzi said on his blog that it is possible to bring back Carson for more than 5 episodes if a story would come up. So keep pushing.

I am from Australia and have just heard the new’s that they killed the Carson Beckett character. It just CAN’T be true. Atlantis is DOOMED!!!!! I am going to be 14 yrs in a week and the best present I could EVER get is to hear that you have been saved. I wish you well in all you do but as my scottish grandfather would say, “T hey just canny do it.” Please reconsider coming back full time as the lovable scotsman Carson, I beg you.

hey paul i think it’s great your comming back!! on april 26 it will be my birthday and the best thing i could ever get is for you to come back full time on the show you are my favourite charictor. you rock! and do you know if there are stargate conventions in australia and if there are would you consider coming to melbourne? PLEASE!!!
