Yes, that’s right. We want everyone in the US with a Nielsen box or a TiVO/DVR to watch “Sunday” this Friday, June 1 on Sci Fi Channel. Why do we want maximum ratings for the episode that takes Carson away from us, you may ask?
Well, our logic is this:
So please, if you or anyone you know is part of a “Nielsen household,” encourage them to watch it live and show support for Carson Beckett!
I don’t recall another SG character that has such an ethical impact be written off the program?
I hope the producers didn’t make this move out of pressure from MGM or another entity. I hope the backlash doesn’t cost the show.
Will I continue watching SGA - absolutely. Will I look for other projects with Paul - absolutely
I just appreciate great sci fi entertainment that keeps us dreaming of space travel and has the mythology that the SG franchise has created for us.
Best of luck to everyone and thanks for entertaining me.
Regards,
I forgot to add in my previous comments, I’m glad I found out that Carson Beckett dies before the show aired.
I’ll admit I just started crushin on the character and would have been devasted without proir knowledge.
When I heard the rumor I prayed it wasn’t true. I broke down and watched the eps that someone had put on YouTube.
If I had not heard the rumor first that eps would have ripped my heart out. It’s NOT the kind of thing they elude to the entire episode. It wasn’t fair. And I certainly would NOT have been pleased to be hit with it out of the blue like they did.
I am so crushed i didn’t know that this was going to happen. I just love his character and he dies. It doesn’t make any sense!
I was totally crushed when I saw him die. I had no clue he was being written off. I surely hope he returns more often than two episodes….Although he is not the lead he seems to be the glue holding everyone together and compliments McKay greatly!
I am so glad I found this site. After watching the episode tonight I was shock and awe and for sure thought that I had just seen the last of SGA I would ever really care for but then I found this sight saw what you all had done and I am very glad for your work and I will continue to watch the show and I am so glad they bring him back.
Pheww that was a close one.
Hmm when i saw the epo and when he died i actuly got water it my eyes it really came as a shock that he died. i loved the way he played in sg atlantis and as some of u others say he cept them all together. I must say if he wasent coming back i might not watch it any more he was basicly the light in the serie. Im just glad to hear he will pop out in the next series.
they so could have killed that one asshole i cant remember his name right now but he was busy painting on the episode in question. Kill that asshole i hate that guy and wanna ring his neck sometimes
I have had it with the scifi CH
I did not have any prior warning about Carson being killed off! I really thought it was a disservice to such an important and gentle character to have him killed by an exploding tumor! Even tasha yar was killed by an oil slick!
I still intend to watch Atlantis and can’t wait for season 3 to come out on DVD! I hope they bring Carson back, though! I’m still in depression!
I can not believe that you would kill off such a beloved character. It is bad enough that SG-1 is ending, now you rip us apart again by killing off the heart of the Atlantis, Carson Beckett. Do you actually thing that this will create more fans. Sure this will cause alot of buzz about the show, but I also think that your are just making the loyal fans mad.
this is just like when they wrote oneil out of SG-1, it will change the show and they may loose people who watch the series, i dont beleive they should write out carson, but what can you do. real fans will keep watching it, otheres wont, the stargate series itself has been going for over 10 years itself, they have killed off some people and had some people retire or move on to better things. it never stopped SG-1 and i am sure that eventualy we will all get use to Carsons replacment. or who knows it might be another danniel jackson thing, i mean look how many times we thought he was dead, or acended or w/e else has happened to it. we all should know by now even if a character gets killed they might return its a sci fi show so you never know what might happen
Bah! I make a point to not get any spoilers before I see an episode, and wow…I’m shocked. I loved Carson’s character, and it’s a shame they killed him off.
hey if carson beckett was not on there the shows rating will start to go down some people will stop watching becuase some only watch for him
I will no longer we watching Stargate. the other characters are ok, but quite 2 dimensional. they started to fill out Rodney, but seemed to stop. the sunday episode was ironically one where they did start to consider the “heart” of the other characters. Episodes like “Irresistable” would have been worthless without Mr. McGillion
i cannot believe they did that to poor carson! i mean, he’s the best guy there! and he puts up with mckay’s crap, and oh my gosh, he’s just a great guy. i cried sooo hard when he died. i thought he’d just wake up with severe burns, but nooo, they just had to kill him! ugh, it’s repulsive how they do this to the very important people of the show. i can’t believe this!!!
OUTRAGEOUS!
Joe’s not the only one who has has it with the scifi channel. I’m not sure all their big changes will keep them from becoming the 24-hour wrestling channel in future. They keep throwing out big-money, glossy stuff and give it one second to catch on with the public and then it’s gone. Don’t blink!
Then you have SGA’s creators with a similar casual attitude about fan loyalty, who kill off a character for the sake of getting more to watch and end up with a 1.1 rating for “Sunday”, not so good. Not so smart.
It’s time scifi’s masters, et al., take a long, hard look at what they are doing wrong.
