Paul McGillion has contacted us and asked us to pass along this message of thanks from him to all the fans who have supported him these past months:
Thanks to all the Carson Beckett fans — you guys are unbelievable! I’m really pleased to be coming back to Stargate: Atlantis. A huge thank you to everyone who no doubt had a big part in helping to resurrect the good doctor! I can’t wait to get back to space; my Scottish skin can’t take all this LA sunshine!

This was a very nice message and very nice of him to take the time to stop by and submit it!
And I’m very glad all our efforts and exertions have paid off like this. It is a very good motivation to fight on for the full reinstatement of his character!

A Scottish proverb says “When the heart
is full the tongue will speak”. So it has.
All who had a part in this passion of the
heart should be very proud. Paul deserves
this return. All who helped deserve a
giant resounding..Hurrah!!!! Nicely done. -

It’ll be great to have you back Paul and we won’t stop fighting til you’re back full time. The rest of my family are thrilled too – I was so incensed I was about to ditch the Sky subscription and dump the TV – thankfully we all have a reprieve now! Good luck in everything you do and looking forward to seeing you in Season 4 (and hopefully 5!).

Thank you Paul for making Carson so inspiring. SA will be what it should, at least for 2 episodes. Now lets make sure it extends to the rest of the run of the show – with Carson back lets hope SA beats SG1′s record 10 years.

From a lass who loves her Scots roots and has been addicted to Stargate since the beginning and fell in love with Beckett from the first syllable he uttered, you’re very welcome, Paul. And to be fair, if you hadn’t played the character with such skill and given him such warmth and humanity, we wouldn’t have loved him so much. So thank you – for giving us a character to love so dearly.

Haha. We’re not finished yet, Paul! We all love you, even us belated fans over here in Australia. We’re still up to Season Two but the devistating news has reached us already.
My friends and I are so glad you’re coming back, even for a few episodes. We can’t wait to see Season Three and her sister, Season Four as well as other developments in the SGA-verse.
As for SCB and all the other Carsonites – Good job, cheeky little buggars. Kudos and turtles to you all and, of course, to the stunningly handsome and talented Paul McGillion. Poor guy, having to go through all that trauma of dying in such a cheap way.
But that aside – SQUEE. Carson is totally returning. Hope you guys all get good sleep – you’re gonna need it with all of the letter writing you’ll undoubtedly be doing reinstating him to a permanent character. Haha.

I’m very happy to hear that Paul is comming back to Stargate Atlantis. But just a few episodes are definitely NOT enough.
We want him back fulltime! And we are going to fight for that.
