23.Mar.07 by astrumporta | Category News |

Confirming the great interest we managed to generate in the event, here is a summary of all the coverage so far, plus a bit of video!

Here are some links to on-line articles that also appeared in the printed newspapers:

Vancouver Sun, 23 March 07
Vancouver 24 Hrs, 23 March 07

Both Joe Mallozzi and David Hewlett described the event in their blogs:

Joe Mallozzi Describes the Event
David Hewlett Does, Too

Our comrades in Vancouver report the following media results, which aren’t on-line yet. We will make recordings and scans of everything, though!

  • Front page of the business section of the Vancouver Sun, great photo of the “Save Carson” butt shot!
  • Page three of the paper 24 HoursPage A10 of the Vancouver Provence, lovely shot of Paul
  • Full profile on CityTV in the evening, small clip on breakfast tv
  • Segment on CBC, national news, not just local BC CBC
  • Live 8-10 minute interview on CBC Radio One (national)
  • Taped interview for CBC Radio
  • Interview and photo shoot with United Press International
  • Possible upcoming slot on Urban Rush
  • Georgia Straight interview

Again, we’ll be getting copies of all this stuff to archive and shared.

In the meantime, the first little video of the event has made it up on YouTube: Pipe Band warms up. Look for more to come!

This is awesome! It’s great to see mainstream media taking this seriously, instead of the usual attitude that scifi fans are weirdos.

I hate that I couldn’t be there, but I’m glad everything went so amazingly well for those who were. Congrats everyone!

Kudos to you for your great work, folks! I’m so proud of you all.

What an amazing job - making a strong statement while keeping it respectful, professional and fun to boot.

    Awesome!

Did nobody think to bring Jason Momoa home with them. He is drop dead gorgeous (and I am old enough to be his mum).

Fantastic work guys. Brilliant! I’m knocked out:>)
I’ve been pondering the Mallozzi challenge. Is there something we can do regarding the link between San Fransisco banning plastic bags, saving the turtle, and Paul’s growing turtle farm? Just a thought!
    Lotsaluv.
    xx

Fantastic. You guys rock. Paul seems to really love all the turtle stuff he’s been getting by what I can tell from the video message. Gaw, he really is such a wonderful man and an adorable sweetheart. Maybe that is why we fight so hard. ^_^
