I can’t believe it. Carson is a great character and asset to Atlantis. Who else besides Sheppard can keep McKay in line. Don’t kill him off like Janet Frasier or just send him home on the Daeduleus, Atlantis needs him and so do his fans.

It’s not enough to kill Daniel (even if they eventually brought him back) and Dr. Janet Fraiser… Now they’re going to kill off Carson as well? He’s my favorite characterr on Atlantis, for the same reason Daniel Jackson’s my favorite character on SG-1: he’s the heart, the conscience, the most caring and HUMAN person on the team. Clearly, TPTB don’t care enough for our favorite docs (Daniel, Janet, and now Carson).

I hope this isn’t true! Carson is my favorite character on Atlantis. I might even stop watching it if they kill him off. He is so caring and I love how kind and his role when he is being a doctor is so sincerce an awesome aperformance. Plus, he is scottish! ^_^

If they were to kill off Beckett it would be a crime. I don’t know whether it is a bit petty to say, but if they do kill off Beckett I seriously won’t watch another episode. I thought SG1 fell apart after Frasier and Hammond left. They were part of SG1 as much as Paul is of SGA. I simply do not understand why they have to mess with things that so obviously work. Saying that, I am very confident that he will be staying because he is a superb actor.

So sad to hear. they all need to take time out to consider what they are doing to spoil completely great shows… reminiscent of the demise of Dr Janet Fraser in SG1

If this is indeed more than a simple rumour, then I’m horrified. If this turns out to be truth, I’ll stop watching the show. Carson is one of the main things that keeps me watching.

I would really hate to see them kill or remove Carson. He has really grown over the past two seasons and it’s obvious that he has developed a large fan base.
Although you may not see him as often as the others, he is still in intregal part of the show and taking him off would really ruin the essense.
Please save Carson!!

First — Ford turns into an “Enzynme”-addicted superhero/supervillan. Then — Maj Lorne is suddenly scarce on SGA, but pops up to deal with The 4400. AND NOW — we are just supposed to sit back as one of the most truly human Humans on this show is written off/ taken away/ given the boot — how much more are loyal fans expected to endure !?!?

For the love of all the is right with Atlantis, DON’T let Carson be killed off!!!!! He is the reason I got hooked on the show. Don’t lure me in by making him a regular only to snatch it away. I’d honestly stop watching.

Over in the guestbook, when I signed, I noticed that someone called Larry, whom works in the Canadian TV indusrty, said he had news for us… That the episode has already been filmed. Well, I have news for Larry, and for anyone that helped make the decision to kill off Beckett, and rid the show of McGillion ::: That, may be so, but it does NOT mean that we cannot and will not protest it!!!! We’re stronger than that..! Mind you, the show was meant to be as well… Meant to be stronger than using the cheap trick of a tired writer for ‘wow’ factor, and supposedly giving the audience what it demands… We do NOT demand the death of Beckett. We demanded he be put in the credits, for Heaven’s sake! We LOVE him!!! We demand that his fate be reversed, and that he be kept in the show, and that the Production Team & TPTB show us how talented and wonderful they are by sticking with the character… Because the other option (death and replacement) does not show us this same, amazing level of talent - It only shows us weakness, and SGA is SO much better than that!!! Don’t replace Carson. Don’t even think of letting him stay dead?? And, what is it with Jewel Staite? Do you think we’re stupid!? We’ve only just seen her as Ella The Wraith… Introducing her in this manner will undermine the intergrity of the show, as will the killing of Carson!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The character of Dr Carson Beckett is fantastic!
Always in sci-fi series the Doctor is always one of the most interesting characters that brings balance.Imagine Star Trek without a “Bones” McCoy, no holographic surgeon as in Star Trek Voyager or a Dr Phlox in Enterprise.
Do the right thing and develop this charcter guys!

Doctor Carson Beckett has got to be one of my favourite characters, he really seems like the only one with real morals at time, and while that irritates me, I find that it gives the character a great bit of depth.
I love his character, and think Beckett to be realistic, not to mention funny!
If he really gets removed from the show, my companions and I would be very, very upset.

Aw bugger it! Just watched “Sunday” and Carson gets bumped off. I hope he does a Daniel Jackson and comes back in season 4 or 5.
As a Scot I’m really sad to see him go, but proud of the way Paulr has portrayed such as positive view of us Scots.
